Satyendra Nath Bose

1894–1974 · Mathematical physics

His 1924 derivation of Planck's radiation law from photon statistics, sent to Albert Einstein, led to Bose–Einstein statistics and the prediction of the Bose–Einstein condensate. The class of particles known as bosons is named in his honour.
