Concrete Volume Calculator
Calculate the volume of concrete needed for slabs, footings, or columns. For quantity estimation only — not structural design.
About this calculator
The Concrete Volume Calculator on NumberCals is a free, mobile-friendly tool for anyone needing to calculate the volume of concrete needed for slabs, footings, or columns. for quantity estimation only — not structural design. Enter your values in the form below and the result is computed instantly — no sign-up, no installation, no waiting.
Formula used
Slab: V = L·W·D; Column: V = π·r²·h; + 5–10% wastage allowance
What you'll need
- Shape
- Length (m, slab only) (e.g. 10)
- Width (m, slab only) (e.g. 5)
- Diameter (m, column only) (e.g. 0.3)
- Depth or Height (m) (e.g. 0.15)
- Wastage allowance (%, default 10) (e.g. 10)
What you'll get
- Net Volume (m³)
- Volume with Wastage (m³)
- Volume (cubic yards)
Frequently Asked Questions
Why include wastage? +
Real-world concrete pours always lose some volume to spillage, form leaks, irregular sub-grades, and pump line residue. 5–10% is typical; tight forms can use 5%, complex pours 15%.
What about reinforcement? +
This calculator gives concrete volume only. For rebar weight estimation, you need separate structural drawings — that's beyond this tool's scope.
Is this structural advice? +
No. This computes quantity for ordering. Slab thickness, footing depth, and column dimensions must be determined by a qualified structural engineer based on loads, soil, and codes.
